Book Review #2 by: Hannah :)

I am half way through this book. When I first started reading it I wasn't so sure that I'd be intrested. Now that I'm far into the book I'm glad I picked it.
In this book Mrs. Q is challenges herself to eat school lunch everyday for a year. She talks a lot about her health, and how she is now starting to watch what she eats at home because she is so nervous about what her and her children are eating at school. When she goes to the doctor she finds something out that is very surprising! You'll have to read to find out how her health has been affected after half way through her challenge.

Discussion Questions:

1) What is your biggest fear about eating school lunch?
2) If you knew your children's health might be in jeopardy would you let them eat school lunch?
Why or why not?
3) What is the most disgusting school lunch you've ever eaten?! Do you think its health?

A book review by: Hannah

Fed Up With Lunch By Sarah Wu was published by Chronicle Books on October 5, 2011. When I first picked out this book, I expected that it would teach me about what I already know about school lunch. When I think of school lunch, I think of greasy, slimy, and bland food. The school lunch that this Midwest teacher is eating is in packages, the food we eat is presented better. We don't know if it comes out of packages because when it is put on our tray it comes out of a metal pan.
So far in the book Sarah Wu, a teacher is Chicago can accepted the challenge of eating school lunch everyday for a year. Everyday she runs back to her room where she can take a picture of her lunch, and then at night she creates a blog post. She had no idea it would become so popular.
I love this book so far, I had no idea that people ate that kind of food. Its so cool that she had the courage to blog about that.

What scares you the most about your school's lunch?
Do you worry for your children when they eat at school? Why or Why not?
Have you yourself eaten lunch at a school?
